Acer x243W monitor resolution problem

Hello,

Irecently bought an Acer X243W 24 ". The moniter supports resolution of 1920 * 1200. when i run it for the first time it gave me the same resolution, but since a reboot I can no longer get it. Windows starts with the default resolution to 1680 * 1050 which is the resolution of my laptop monitor.

I try to change the resolution but when I apply the changes it skips the resolution back to 1680 * 1050. please tell me how to fix.

Geforce M9800GT
Windows XP with service pack 3
laptop screen with 1680 * 1050

Its not a major problem. you power strip may force the resolution to the full screen. In short theres is no problem with your acer monitor, problem is somewhere in somewhere in Windows XP or the drivers. or even Nvidia drivers which give the same problem.

What is the second screen attached ? its a laptop screen ? For clarity, you can not adjust the resolution of both screens, or just the external screen? there can be problem with Display Drivers. you need to manually update the drivers and manually correct resolution.

Yes its a laptop screen and if i use my laptop screen, I can not change the resolution thereof. I can choose another resolution on Ok button, and then i get the resolution of 1920 * 1200.
