ATI is not recognized under Windows 7

I just formatted my PC, I installed windows 7 before that, which I love, I reinstalled but this time it did not download the graphics drivers for my ATI X700 mobility automatically the first time I put myself in search of them, I think they have found, installed except that nothing is happening I can not put the definition of my screen (which is usually 1200x800) and I'm stuck at 1024x768. And when I look in the properties of my card here is what I see:

    Standard VGA graphics adapter
    Chip type: ATI ATOMBIOS
    DAC Type: 8 bits
    Bios Information: 1
Total available Graphic Memory: 16mb! (a peak)
    Dedicate Video Memory: n / a
    System Video Memory: n / a
    Shared Memory System: n / a

I have no idea what happens.

    Thank you in advance.

I think by default it must be recognized in the device manager as standard VGA, which is false.

Try to install the driver for your card for Vista, it should pass, and then Windows will follow.

Should we not first and foremost, install the drivers for the motherboard?

When the video port will be well managed, probably the graphics card will be seen

Hello and thank you for your answers first.

What I did not understand in fact, is that while the first installation was recognized normally (motherboard, gfx etc ...).
A second install I followed exactly the same procedure as the previous one.

If I reinstall, it would mean that I submit my cd of XP and installing drivers? Once installed 7?

If so, I had not thought of.

    I will try that.

I just want you, Thank you
