HD 4850 or 9800GTX

hi,
My current graphics card is start giveing problem while playing games such as crysis, gears of war.so i am looking for a new graphic card i have only two options Radeon HD 4850 and GeForce 9800 GTX.I just want performance no matter how much temperature, noise etc.

The Nvdia 9800gtx is not as much as faster than ATI HD4850 with the exception of crysis.. I would recommend the all new 9800 gtx plus from nvidia. The stock cooler on the 4850 is quiet as you like but the card runs hot because of it. This new version of the 9800 gtx comes with physix and cuda technology. They also use less power, and have a single slot cool(which runs hot, but with a minor adjustment with the settings in Catalyst Control center, you can avoid the heat)

I use a 9800 GTX+ and it works fine. I've never had a problem with it.Yeah they are overkill for source .. and the 4850, is better price:performance, everyone is reccommending the 4850/70 over nvidia atm.

The 4850 not give that much of performance as compare to the 9800 but the 4870 does.it depends on the game to see which is better. but with only 1 power connector, and better drivers, and the possibility for crossfire, the 4850 anytime.
