Sapphire HD4870 Fan control?

hi,
I have in my computer with a Sapphire HD4870 1Gb installed.the problem is I want to reduce fan speed, it is not at that level for a reason.For nvidia i can use the EVGA precision tool to overclock and control the fan speed, is there a similar tool for ATI cards?

Well there was ATI tool..but it does not work for the newer cards...so you will have to manually change it in the registry somewhere...

f you make a profile in catalyst after turning on Overdrive( make sure clock and memory settings are correct). You can then go to the file "C:\Users\Bretware\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\Bretware. XML. the xml file will have the same name as the catalyst profile you saved. right click and hit edit.

Change the value to "manual" and Want value to "65"

Save the file then reload your profile in catalyst.
