ati mobility radeon 2400 xt DUAL DISPLAY

Hi, i have a laptop with the ati radeon 2400 card in it.

I am pulling my hair out trying to play the s-video out through my tv.

In the windows where you select external display i am not givin any options to use or attach a second display.

I have opened the windows mobility center window and clicked on "detect external display" but nothing ever comes up.

I have gone to the Catylist Controll Center (after right clicking the desktop) and the options to "select a different desktop mode" as well as to "set the extend desktop configeration" are not able to be selected.

What can i do?

Try the resetting the PRAM. Command + Option + P + R while powering up until you hear the second boot chime.

Once you hit "detect displays" does it find the monitor?

The video adapter configuration program on your laptop should have a feature on it where you can "clone" the displays. To access this program, either find the program in Control Panel, or by right-clicking on the Desktop and selecting the program from the menu. It might be called NVidia, ATI, or Intel Desktop Management. Find the multiple display feature and set the displays to "clone". This will display the same thing on both displays.

Depending on how the computer is feeling, it can take several (7 or 8+) attempts to extend the screen (Dispaly Properties -> Settings --> Second Screen, then Extend/Apply), or several FN+F4 key presses before HDMI is recognised.
