hi,
I have my playstation 3 plugged in to my monitor and my question is that does it supports 1080p? I've checked the ps3 settings that need 1080p but my screen shows that the 720p is connected ..
someone knows where i can see / change to 1080p?

The resolution is 1680 x 1050. That is not a HD format, in my opinion.
Assuming the TV can accept a 1080p signal, it will be scaled to 720p. But that caveat is important: many older 720p HDTVs--and yes, even some older 1080p models--cannot even accept 1080p signals at all, in which case you'll get a blank screen. Thankfully, most newer HDTVs can accept 1080p signals.
720P is good? or is it really much difference between 720 and 1080?
It depends on the screen size you are looking for. For anything over 37", 1080 is definitely a noticeable improvement.720p is progressive scan and 1080i is interlaced scan.
1080 has 360 MORE LINES of resolution to provide MORE detail.....
360 is Half of 720, so a 1080 TV will provide 150% resolution...actually its better to do it this way.....
720 has 66% of the resolution that 1080 has......
A 1080P LCD or Plasma display is backwards compatible, which means that it can do 1080i, 720P, 480P, and 480i, however, just the same way that a regular Television set cannot display a high def broadcast, a 720P display is not capable of displaying either a 1080i or 1080P signal, there are simply not enough lines of resolution in the Television to display 1080 lines it automatically converts 1080i or 1080P signals to 720P. A 1080P set is preferable because it is backwards compatible and in essence, " Future Proof." It should be noted, however that depending on which panel you are watching, it may be taking a signal and automatically converting it to the panel’s native resolution.
