The edition 2009 of CeBIT is the occasion near the partners some information on the next graphics chips of AMD, of which Radeon HD 4890. Brought to replace Radeon HD 4870, Radeon HD 4890 will be equipped, with its launching, of 512 Mb of memory GDDR5. It will be necessary to await a fifteen or so days additional to see unloading in the trade the versions equipped with 1 Gb of memory. Based on chip RV790, Radeon HD 4890 remains engraved in 55nm and should leave to the whole beginning April with a tariff ranging between 199 and 249 euros including all taxes.
One will need a little more patience to see appearing the first graphics cards based on the RV740, a graphics chip engraved in 40nm. Radeon HD 4750 which is equipped with it will leave at the beginning of May. The positioning of Radeon HD 4750 is clear: to replace Radeon HD 4830 and to offer the performances of Radeon HD 4850. Side tariff, the charts should be proposed, with launching, between 89 and 100 euros including all taxes.
One will thus need still a little patience to see whether the new offer of AMD can worry a little more one NVIDIA which does not have any more that for only weapon, the successive change of its commercial names. Incompetent to decline architecture GeForce 200 on the midrange, NVIDIA sees himself constrained to arise his growing old G92 by changing his trade name: GeForce GTS 250 sounds it is true better than GeForce 9800 GTX…
