Can i use DDR2 RAM with Graphics RAM DDR3?

Hey guys! as the title suggests, I have a motherboard which has DDR2 RAM support. I want to buy a PCIe Graphics card and actually have one in mind. But i haven't purchased it yet because, it has DDR3 as its memory. Will this combination work?
I want to make sure before purchasing the Graphics Card or i may end up wasting my money! Help Guys!

I guess it does work. graphics memory has nothing to do with the main memory until it is shared [onboard graphics] and if it is shared, there won't be difference.

Graphics and system ram are completely independent of each other. Personally I am using a DDR3 Graphics card on a board with DDR2 memory. Expanding on it, the same can be said for newer graphics cards with DDR4 as well as systems taking DDR2 or DDR3 on the motherboard as well... You can now stop worrying and go ahead with your new purchasing plan! All the Best..!

Yes....Yes you can. The Video card DDR memory is not the same as the system memory. The video card memory is dedicated to the video card only. As long as you have the requirements for the card to run, then you should be fine. That is how my system is setup now.

DDR ram slots physically wont take DDR2 or DDR3. they are not plug compatible. However if you find an PCIe or other type of VIDEO Card that is Plug Compatible with your computer and it contains DDR2 or DDR3 ram on it then yes it will work.
