    ASUS 4870x2

I have a few questions. I have a Asus 4870x2 on the way.

On these pages there are 2 cards, one with a picture of 3 fans on it. I used the model number for that when I ordered. So I should get one with 3 fans? The picture on the site I ordered from did have picture of just one fan.

Will the card work with my PSU?

I have a Mist 600w, which is a high quality PSU. My specs are Intel QX6700, Gigabyte DQ6 motherboard, Creative sound card, 7 hard drives, about 6 fans (80 to 120mm) and a few USB devices. Uses a 9800 GTX to day. And does not overclock.

Should this be OK, or should I be prepared to order a new one?

Try it. You connect two cords to the card, one 8 pin and one 6pin, try to set them on a standalone rail if you got multiple rails. There are a bunch of LEDs on the back of the card (turned up when installed) where you can look for boot up. If they are flashing red continuously something is wrong. When I had problems with it I got some strange noise from it too.

If the system doesn't boot up try to boot without HDD,sound card and USB devices. If it does boot up and you can run games without BSODs and reboots/freeze/hangs share your success here

First off, what exactly makes the Mist 600W PSU high quality?

The reason I call it High Quality is because it has won all the test it has been in here in Norway. When pushed to the limit, it keeps the volts much better than any other one they compare it to.

I'll think I'll try the card with fewer of the HDDs powered up to start with, then turn one and one back on.
