Splitting a file .Mkv into two parts?

I know that we can split a file. Mkv two parties without losing quality? but has heard that we may lose the quality by splitting?

So can anyone tell me how to achieve the quality while splitting..

mkv toolnix / merge works in native format.. mkv then no recoding, but works in its original format.
