Problem with a Quiver of the Monitor

My Samsung monitor has a random quiver, it's rare but a few times a day. I have a fairly new Gateway. Could this problem be a video driver, video card, the computer or the monitor? Where do I start to diagnose the problem? It's a Gateway quad Q6600 2.4GHZ processor, Samsung LCD using an analog connection. This computer does not have a DVI connection. Both are nearly a year old.

May be its happening because of bad video cable try to get another one. And make sure that your video settings are right. Also, try using the Auto adjustment button on the monitor if you haven't already.

Lots of times it's caused by external interference, such as a motor or some other power source nearby kicking on. If you get a slight dip or spike in the power line it's plugged into, that could cause it. Or if there's a spike in EMF, like a microwave or refrigerator nearby that turns on.

I have the same problem guys. My monitor quivers and flickers.. moreover I can see small black horizontal lines on my monitor's display. I have a UPS nearby my Plug and Play Monitor and it will give power supply to the monitor. Will it cause the problem..

No it shouldn't cause any issue, I guess the only test you can make now is to move it from where it is and see if the problem remains. Otherwise could you take it to a friend's PC and see if it's better there? If you can't move it, it's still worth checking again for absolutely any nearby wiring or equipment that could be causing it.

Get your monitor replaced if its under warranty. The UPS will not cause any problem. The black line is the problem of either the picture tube or the IC.
