    Dual displays

I have got new 22" LCD monitor I already have a 17" LCD with me. I wonder if I can have both so that I can watch movies and do other stuff of the 22" and play games on the 17". Is this possible?

This is definitely possible. Something like setting your monitors to Dualview will do that. But getting things to run simultaneously and that too properly will be a difficult task.

Connect the main monitor on to your onboard card and then connect the second to the graphics card. Make sure that your bios reads the onboard as the main VGA adapter (if you have that option). Thats not usually necessary but may help.

You can always plug in the second monitor after you boot into windows then right click on your desktop and go to properties tab, then settings and configure from there.

Dual monitors is possible for a PC. I have seen my friends playing games on one monitor and doing other stuffs like ripping iTunes CDs, chatting, using Facebook...going on the other.

If your video card has an output for second display as well, you can connect the second monitor to that machine.

Although dual monitors or dual displays work, i have seen many times that if a game is played on one monitor and a video is watched on the other simultaneously, the game would run fine but the video on the other would lag. This because the games takes all from the CPU leaving less for the second one. Although the sound from the video would be proper, the frame rate might be 1 frame per minute

The frame rate that one will get depends on what kind of game he is playing. Most of the recent games will actually slow down the performance provided you have low video card. Setting identical resolutions on both the monitors can be some relief i believe.

I have been using 2 monitors with such applications and never had any problems with this dual configuration. Though i will like to mention that the monitors are both 19" CRT. But then i think that doesn't matters so. Because i have been able to connect a TV (@ 640x480) to the setup with the other monitor (@ 1280x1200), minus one of the CRTs and it works fine too.
