MSP 2010 - Locking Views so Filters don't change

In MSP 2010 I have an issue with filters used in views. For example, I have a view for a work update sheet which uses a particuar table and the filter "Incomplete Tasks"

If I apply this view it works OK, showing me only incomplete tasks. If I then select the filter "All Tasks" from the list of filters, I can see all tasks as expected. So far so good.

If I then reapply the work update sheet view it shows all tasks instead of incomplete tasks. When I check the view via More Views > Edit the filter in the view, which was "Incomplete Tasks," has been changed to "All Tasks." MSP 2003 did not work like this. Has this changed in MSP 2010? How can I lock my views so filters don't change?

When you remove the filter and save the file, the view is saved without the filter. I suggest instead of removing the filter, switch to another view that does not have the filter applied. So you'd have one view with Incomplete tasks and and of the same view without the filter.

So it seems as though MSP2010 has been changed to previous versions.

In MSP2003 the table, group and filter saved in a view would not change on the fly, but have to be specifically changes and saved. Now we have to be extra carefull not to change a "saved" view. This seems very strange in my opinion.

There have been a number of changes in Project 2010. If you save the view to Global.mpt (File > Info, Organizer) you can reset the view to default (with the filter applied) using the Task Ribbon. Apply the view, click the Gantt chart view drop down and select "Reset to default".
