Calendar month for duration vs work hours

I have a problem that seems to be very simple but I can't figure it out. I work in the construction industry. Our projects are based on calendar days/months, rounded to the nearest 10, so we basically don't care about week-ends, 8-hour work days etc.
A typical project will be, let's say 6-month duration, so we use 180 days, or a 1-year project will be 360 days. When I set up a schedule and enter durations for tasks it skips week-ends, so a 10 day duration ends up showing a total duration of 14 days because of the 2 week-ends in between; what I need is if a task is 10 days, I want to add 10 straight calendar days, not just work days.
I have been using e-days, but it is not the right way to do it, it seems to be just a work-around. I am sure there must be a simple way to set the calendar to ignore work hours, week-ends etc. and just enter tasks in calendar days.

Example, road construction:
Task 1 - Earthworks - 30 days
Task 2 - Road base - 20 days
Task 3 - Curb and sidewalks - 10 days
Task 4 - Asphalt - 10 days
Task 5 - Closeout - 30 days
Total project time is 100 days.

These are calendar days, not just Monday through Friday work days. The contractor has to allow for non-workdays in his planning of the work, we don't show that on the schedule.

You can certainly modify the calendar to make every day a working day. However, your resources will be scheduled to work during Saturdays and Sundays.

You need to go into the calendar options and set the weekends as working days.

Also, in Options you can set the days/month and hours/day

Okay, thanks. I just checked this and it works.
I have changed the calendar to the 24-hour calendar.(Tools - Change Working Time)
I also had to go to Tools - Options - Calendar and changed hours per day to 24 and hours per week to 168. I changed days per month to 0, since it would not be accurate if I select either 30 or 31. It seems like the hours per day and hours per week is able to override the 0 days per month.
I also went to Project - Project Information to select the 24-hour calendar, and in my gant view I had to right click to select the 24-hour calendar so weeke-ends are not shown grayed out.
