Formula for serial number in Excel Sheet

Hi friends recently I have got the problems while working with excel that when I’m making too much rows data like more than 30 thousand, I want to put the serial number by putting formula and it put serial number without scroll or copy system. I don’t know why such thing happen in Excel is there any way to do this in Excel. Is there any built in formula that I can make use for inserting the serial number in Excel Sheet. If you guys have any of the information or any of the suggestion then please let me know. Can anyone help me on this or how to create the formula that works?

According to my suggestion you should try this out May it will help. Place this in the start cell, say in A2: =ROWS($1:1) Then just drag A2 down all the way Or just double click on A2's fill handle (if the adjacent column is filled)

This is simple to do in Excel 2003, so may this will also works on the higher version of excel. For inserting the serial number in to the Excel Sheet, use the List feature in the Data Menu. Use the Table feature in the Insert Tab from the main Ribbon.
