Project 2010 file corrupted when saved as 2007

I tried to open my project today and received the following error:

"The operation cannot be completed because the source file contains invalid project data or the total number of rows would exceed the limit of 1,048,000 rows in a project.
Validate the data in the source file, insert fewer rows, delete some rows, or consider dividing your project into subprojects to provide more space for tasks and resources."

This was a rather small file (50 tasks) so I do not think that this error applies.

I am using Project 2010 and I have been saving this file as a 2007 version so that others can read it. I am not able to insert this file into a new project.

Any ideas about how to recover it?

    Thank you!

I'm afraid that the file may be so soundly corrupted that it may be unrecoverable. You'll need to get out your backup copy.

I suggest also checking if you have the latest CU installed to Project 2010. See:

I believe that one of the CUs fixed the problem with Project 2007 files.

    I hope this helps.
