    Re: send tasks to outlook

The below option is available in microsoft project 2002 till project 2010, but they are hidden. To show the same feature, you can follow the below steps:
    1. First of all go to "Tools/Customize/Toolbars"
    2. After that switch to tab "Commands"
    3. Now you have to select "All Commands"
    4. After that you have to scroll to "ReminderSet"
    5. Now you can try to drop the toolbar button on a toolbar of your choice
    6. And then click "Close"

After that, you will be able to add a reminder in your local outlook as task with reminder for selected Project tasks from your local Microsoft Project.

I also want to add that with versions newer than Project 98 its not possible to send these tasks directly to your resources out of the box, but with project server that is possible. It all depends on the version you can use the outlook add-in or the exchange server integration. What is the exact scenario that you like.

You can try to use the set reminder in Project 2007 by following the below method:
    1. You will need to make sure the resource assigned to the task has an email address. After that double click the resource's name and enter an email address for each resource.
    2. Now you can try to select the task and click the Set Reminder button.
    3. After that try to look at the task list and the "To-Do bar" to see the reminders.

    Re: send tasks to outlook

    Hi All,

I'm using Project 2010 and have got the "Set Reminder" button to show up but it is unselectable. I have added resources through Active Directory and manually and it still does not work. I am using Outlook 2007.

    Cheers,
    Dan
