Project Pro 2010 with Project Server 2007

My Project server is still running with version 2007 however I upgraded my Project to Pro 2010 edition. After this upgraded I dint faced any problem opening local project files but while opening these files on project server, it give me an error message saying "No permissions to read Project Server Enterprise Global file".

The only thing I am suspecting for this error is may be Project Pro 2010 not compatible with compatible with Project Server 2007. If it is compatible then why am I getting that error message. Can anyone please help me out with this?

Yes, your suspect is right. Project Pro 2010 is not compatible with Project Server 2007. At the same time Project Pro 2007 is compatible with Project Server 2010 running in Backwards Compatibility Mode (BCM).

As you have a licensed version of Project 2010 you are entitled to install Project 2007 Pro provided you keep the 2010 box as your license for it. You can of course then uninstall 2007 and re-install 2010 once you upgrade to Project Server 2010.
