    Gannt Chart Time Line

I have some problem with the Gannt Chart Timeline, i have set up gannt chart with predecessors and successors and i am having arrows connecting each one as well. However, now i want to redo my time line and dates completely but i am not able to get the dates for all task to disappear. I have tried deleting dates, bars on the graph and redoing dates with predecessors and successors but no luck yet. I want to reset the dates and keep my Task Names, Durations, and Resource Names as they were. Is there anyone who can help???

    Re: Gannt Chart Time Line

In case you have entered Tasks, Duration and Predecessors links then Microsoft Project is doing what it is designed for. Entering or altering dates cause constraints which affect flexibility of Projects. In order to achieve what you want reconsider the Durations and try assigning more resources for decreasing the Durations. Just go through the Project's calculations and adjust your Data accordingly in case dates doesn't gets accepted.

Actually i haven't done predecessors or successors, i have put the durations up and have added the blue bars on the gannt chart manually but the blue bars with arrows are pointing at the blue bars that i have added. I am not able to get rid of the arrows time line for redoing whole scheduling.

Try moving the bars manually. When you do so the project will record the beginning and end of the bar after inserting appropriate Start and Finish dates. Further the Project will enter "Start No Earlier Than" constraint reducing the flexibility of Project so removing this feature will be a better idea. You can do that by going in to Tools/Options.../Schedule tab and unchecking "Autolink inserted or moved tasks". Once you do that you will be able to the logic links that you might be willing to add.
