Linking MS Project to MS Excel - ODBC Connection

I have got a querie about linking MS Project and MS Excel. I want to create a database query within excel so that I would be able to update the excel sheet directly from a source msp file. I have too many programm plan and I have got an excel sheet that contains an extract of all the milestones from the programm plan. The excel sheet is updated on a weekly basis and updates made on RAG status, milestone end date and % complete. I have been using a milestone code to refrence from excel to project. Its a manual process of checking each individual milestone in the programm plan, its a long process. I was wondering if we can automate this using an ODBC connection so it updates the data automatically and it will cut down an hours work to the click of a button. Can anyone suggest me how to do this? Thanks.

You can try to read the pjoledb.htm file in one of the Projects folders and it will explain you everything there. The driver is normally read only and is not available for Project 2007.

You can try to search for the file on your local drive. It is all included with a standard Project installation. The installation version of Project 2003 that I have, its in the 1003 folder in the Microsoft Office Program files on C: drive.
