No Sound with AGP HDMI Video Card through HDMI Connection

    Hi guys,

I connect my PC to HDTV through HDMI cable. I just bought an Asus AH3450 AGP video card that supports HDMI. After googling for long, i realized AGP card does not have Realtek sound chip built in, whereas the PCI-E card does. (My mother board does not support PCI-E video card, sigh)

I tried connect my PC to TV using the HDMI cable and also use the RCA (red and white cable) to 3.5mm cable to connect to the normal sound input (where you would connect your speaker to), but no luck....still no sound. I thought this should work, but not sure why it didn't work?

does anyone have any idea? or any alternate way to get the sound from my PC to TV? Thanks in advanced guys!

    Dennis

Re: No Sound with AGP HDMI Video Card through HDMI Connection

If you have connected your HDTV with R&W cable then there should be at least one HDMI ports with option to accept Stereo sound. Just check your TV settings, there should be some option with which you can force your TV using the R&W connection associated with the HDMI connection instead of using the HDMI audio. If you don’t know the settings better read its manual. It should be right there.
