Xbox 360 PC selected failed

I have a Windows XP desktop connected with Xbox 360 using Linksys befsr41 router. Am trying to share my PC Media over 360 but facing some error. It says something ‘PC selected failed’. On my PC when I go to WMP 11, I can see all the settings are correct, access is provided and also 360 is visible but when I see in Xbox 360i cannot see any PC. It says “there are no PCs on the network.”

I have done everything I know including turning off XP firewall as well as McAfee firwall but with no success yet. Do you guys have any idea what could be the problem and how to fix it? Please share. Thank you.

You are not along with this problem buddy. Am too working out with exactly the same issue since a week now. So far haven’t got it fixed. If I get it done somehow will surely share here.

I have been through this problem long back, though I found a solution but it wasn’t the permanent solution. In my case after doing lots of researches and troubleshooting that dint fixed the problem finally I uninstalled and reinstalled WMP and the problem got solved. But it was just until I reboot the system. Once rebooted, the problem came back.

I tried re-installing once again and it worked again until the next reboot. So the conclusion is I guess there is some automatic patch on MP 11 that break my connection. Later I left as it is and waiting Microsoft to do something about it.
