    Error COOD11B1 on MP11

I am using Windows XP Sp2 laptop with Windows Media Player 11. I love to hear radios but my WMP can only stream few stations, not all. I tried all possible settings and all but still no help. Even updated my sound drivers but every time WMP ends up saying “error COOD11B1- Cannot Play the File.”

    Somebody please help.

Can you be more specific about which radio stations WMP is not able to play? I mean is it .rm or .ram extension? Reply so that I can provide you the proper solution.

First of all thanks for your reply friend but am not a computer savvy hence I don’t know how can I figure out those extensions. I just know that all these stations are British FM stations. If finding out those extension is important can you please tell me where and how can I find it?

The following are the steps that you should perform if you player is not receiving streams:

    Open Windows Media Player.
If you don't see the menu selections File View Play Tools Help at the top of the player, RIGHT-click on the very top of the player and select Show Menu Bar.
Select Tools and then Options and the Network tab.
Under the Streaming Protocols section, be sure that ONLY TCP and HTTP are selected.
    Select the Performance tab.
In the Connection Speed section, select Detect Connection speed (recommended).
    Select the Player tab.
In the Automatic Updates section, be sure that Download Codecs Automatically is checked.
Be sure that Connect to the Internet (overrides all other commands) is checked.
    Select the File Types tab.
    Click the Select All button.
Click OK and totally close the player and try connecting again.
