Best DNS for BSNL Dataone Broadband

My Dataone Broadband connection is very slow even when I have unlimited 750 plan. I have tried switching DNS to 61.1.96.xx but that’s not making any difference in my case. I want to know which DNS you are using. Which is the best DNS that can provide me faster speed?? Any idea? Help regarding this will be appreciated.

I was running in to same issue and I had tried switching between 61.1.96.69 and 61.1.96.71 but they were not optimal. Since switching to 218.67.222.222, my internet connection is working great.

I’ll suggest you to use Google Public DNS. If you are not aware, then ill like to inform you that Google Public DNS is a free global Domain Name System (DNS) resolution service. One can switch to it as alternative DNS provider. Just Configure your DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and your internet speed will boost up. If it doesn’t then I will suggest you to contact BSNL, address them the issue you are going through and check out what they have to say.

+ For Google Public DNS Servers, even I use 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 and my internet connection works fine. However, in order to use the Public DNS Servers you will have to make some changes in your Internet settings. By Default your Internet Connection might be having Automatic DNS. In order to change it Go in to Network and Sharing Settings > Right click on “Local Area Connection”, select properties > Select IPv4> general and check “use following DNS Servers” option. You can enter any Public DNS Servers from the above ones but ill personally suggest you to go with Google Public DNS Servers.

Hey you can use software called “namebench” as well. It helps in tracking down the fastest DNS servers available for your computer. It is compatible with Mac OS X, Windows, and UNIX and is available with graphical user interface and command-line interface for free.

I don't think this is relavant question..but does changing preferred DNS will make browsing or downloading faster than now..even I have tried the bsnl dns once with no changes... may be using torrents and browsing at a same time doesn't make any sense here??
