Launch of 3G After Gap In 2009

I have been waiting for the use of 3G service since long and have been expecting it to be launched in 2009. But due to some reasons the phone has not been in 2009. But this has not lessened the interest of mine to use this phone. As I am aware that it can be used for many other features than the normal functioning of the calling. Please tell me the other and additional features of 3G and also the name of the handsets that are supporting this features.

And before you could had to get some positive news, it all started with Delay which took place early January, which was due to the difference of opinion that took between the Finance Ministry and DoT on the base price for the license. And now it was predicted that only a little less regulation by TRAI and DoT of the telecom space could actually be beneficial. And below are this reasons that led to the delay's :
    • November 30th: The Auction design, bid document to be prepared
    • December 15th: And then the Inviting operators to bid
    • December 31th: Then came the Pre-qualification of bidders
    • January 15th:And the Auction to be completed
    • January 25th:After the auction being made the signing of contracts with successful bidders
    • January 31th: Depositing of first trench of auction money

And after this the launch was made easily and the service was made available to all the various consumers.

Furthermore, it was considered to be the cat fight between the Finance ministry and DoT. Then DoT proposed an increase in the reserve price, that was about 70% increase over the earlier figure of Rs 2,020 crore. And then to the base price for all broadband wireless access spectrum for WiMax has been proposed to be increased from Rs 1,020 crore to Rs 1,725 crore and on the other hand the Finance Ministry had suggested this to be increased to Rs 2,020 crore. Later, then when the disputes got over MTNL became the first telecom operator in the country to commercially launch 3G mobile services. They invested Rs 500 crore has been rolled to a network across Delhi and Mumbai with an aim to get 2 lakh subscribers that would be over the next 2 years. Initially rolled out in Orissa and then in New Delhi, MTNL 3G Jadoo seems to be only for those who bought 3G handsets with the hope of 3G getting rolled out pan India sooner or later.

Also the information of the handset that supports the 3G is that their are various mobile phones of Nokia, Samsung, Blackberry, Spice, LG, HTC and Sony-Ericson and many other phones. And also Acer has also started the production of 3G phones which can be used for the connectivity of various other phones and also for the video calling purposes. And the exceptions are the Iphones that has got the in-build feature of 3G in it. So all the above phones can be used for the 3G connectivity.
