slow cable modem

Hi friends

I am using Local cable internet for home use. while surfing internet i get very speed. I am using 512 kbps connection on that i am getting less download speed 30 to 40 kbps. I told cable operator he told me that you need to change modem. I want ask you friends that is there any problem in my modem ?

If you are getting less surfing and downloading speed that means there will be issue from your ISP. I am also using hathway internet and face same issue first i change modem but issue not solve. hatway person came at my home and solve my issue. He told me that there is no issue in modem issue was in cables.
