Re: Compare Broadband with leased line

Leased lines are usually the answer for large businesses and organizations such as colleges and universities. A leased line is a symmetric telecommunications line connecting two locations. They are large cables (usually fiber optic) that carry large loads of data. Leased lines are comparatively expensive when compared to alternative connectivity products (ADSL, SDSL, etc.) due to the fact that they are reserved exclusively to the leaseholder.

    Hi

    Illustration
Leased Line : a hose pipe with water flowing at its best.
Broadband : a hose pipe with water flowing without a constant speed. Sometimes it may at its best, and sometimes little.

    Eg.
A 1 Mbps leased line is split among 5 or more customers to make it a broadband connection with upto 1 Mbps speed.
