Virgin mobile has announced the launch of vJazz, a color handset that enables unlimited music downloads. The vJazz is a wine red and block color handset. It specializes in the music application.
A 1GB card allows users to store huge number of songs. Upto one lakh Bollywood, regional and International songs are available for downloading. Free downloads will be available for one year.
Other features available in the set are Music Keys, FM radio, a 1.3 MP camera, Bluetooth, loud speakers and Video playback which can be seen on a reasonably large screen. The vJazz will be available for a price of Rs 4500.
M.A. Madhusudan, chief executive officer, Virgin Mobile India said, “Music is at the core of youth culture, bollywood, jazz, hip-hop, rock, alternative, you name it, they know it! Our studies indicate that the existing phones in the market allow youth to carry a small collection of songs.” He stated that the music application will be the USP of this handset.
This integrated music package is being made available at an affordable price of Rs 4,250/. The phone is loaded with other features like Music player, Music keys, FM Radio, Video playback, 1.3 MP camera, 1000 SMS and 1000 phonebook storage space, loud speakers, bluetooth and a large screen, the release added.

He added that they have a desire to refresh music regularly. However, the music consumption is hindered by the exorbitant cost of downloading full length songs, which is about Rs. 40-45 per song.
