    Automatic reconnection dataone

If I try to disconnect my bsnl connection, message comes "Starting Authentication" and it reconnects again. My computer is virus free as i have formatted it 2 hours back. Settings are default windows settings and AUTOMATIC REDIALLING IS OFF. So wats the reason for this???

"Starting Authentication" this message always comes when we dial-up a connection. Are you saying that you unable to disconnect your connection? whenever you tries it reconnects again?

call up BSNL cc and ask them to disable the "heartbeat" function for you...

Are you using PPPOE connection? PPPOE from the PC will not be a problem. in other words, Pure Bridging is safer in this case. Since the DSL Modem doesn't authenticate with BSNL Network unless you want to, it remains safe. But if you let your PC connected through PPPOE and no firewall protected, you are in danger. Just try to make connection with the proper firewall. Then try to connect and disconnect your connection.
