I had heard long back that Videocon is going to start DTH service of its own. Now the Big TV from reliance has also arrived without any prior hint. When is Videocon going to launch its DTH?

As per the news from Videocon press release, the DTH service was expected to start from September.

I had read that in news. But September has already started. Thats why i am wondering when they will start their service.

According to news that was published by Videocon,

Videocon Industries expects to start its direct-to-home television services by September, Chairman Venugopal Dhoot said on Friday. The company also plans to raise the prices of some of its consumer durables marginally, he said. However, the price rise will not affect demand, he added. About 70 percent of consumer durables are bought in cash and 30 percent through finance, he told reporters on the sidelines of a banking conference. "Interest rate rise will not affect demand, but rise in input costs are a concern," he added.

As far as the reports to be believed, Videocon has completed and is ready with the Satellite setup for DTH. There must be some technical things that they must be solving and giving the final touch.

So due to the technical issues or final touch (whatever), will this DTH start in september or is going to be delayed. If in september itself, any specific date?

The launch date will be delayed for sure coz till now there is no such buzz from Videocon releasing it early. Might be expected in October or before or during Diwali. As Big TV is already launched, they must be waiting to see the response of Big TV.

I think that must be true. They must be waiting to see haw Big TV is doing so that they can provide more features than Big TV or any other DTH to emerge as a strong DTH provider.

That can be the reason. As Reliance Big tV resolved the bugs and minor problems in Dish TV and Tata Sky, Videocon DTH must be waiting to track bugs in Big TV and to come up solving them.

Yes, after all this is the competition between the DTH service providers and Videocon will be hoping to beat all the existing.

I expect some good service and schemes from Videocon DTH. Something like this,

1. Complete FTA channels for Rs.100.
2. Sports Channels on a-la-carte basis.
3. Packages on Regional Basis.
4. Package of News Channels.
5. Package of English Movie and English Ent. Channels.
