BSNL broadband speed is very slow

Hi

Friends I am using BSNL unlimited 256 kbps broadband plan in that i am getting speed 100 kbps to 170 kbps speed in day and in night i am getting 160 to 200 kbps speed till date i not got 256 kbps speed on BSNL Broadband. I also complaint to the BSNL office regarding this but they told that from our side there is no problem. They told me router is not working properly change your router. I am using D-LINK ROUTER is there any problem in router ? Which router is Best ?

Normaly you should get 200 Kbps speed avg . Did you get your line checked by bsnl before taking broadband because if line is not in good condition you won't get speeds.

There is no problem in router. Because in Night your getting 200 kbps speed that means BSNL having some problem with speed.

Speed depends upon lot of things. Using software such as DAP or IDM you can get optimum speed. For torrents, port must be forwarded and you must have plenty of seeds.

What you guys shshould do is tear down the BSNL office for daring to suggest 300 kbps as "Broadband"!!

India is seriously in the middle ages if it qualifies this as broadband!!

If a person gets a taste of 10Mbps
he wont go fr slow speed

dont know how much that would be in Mumbai

Most of the time the speed of the broadband depends upons the usage, means that what kind of browser you are using and how much the downloader provides the speed when you try to download big files. Ther are other reasond by which the speed get lower due to the network problem and other connection reasons. If you feel like the speed is not getting upper then you can call bsnl person and tell them your problem.

I also have a 256Kbps Bb.I thaught that means my bandwirth is 256Kbps.
I get a download speed of 25Kbps.
If it is a problem then please tell me .and what should i do for it

Hello there, if you want to increase the speed of the internet, then there are many softwares available to do the same. The "Internet Cyclone" is one such software. Install the same and set it according to your need. It has a very flexible interface and hence, it can be used by the beginners too.

This basically depends on the load on the server of the host from where you are trying to get access or download the application. When the traffic on that particular server is not high you get a good speed with the bandwidth provided to you.

Well it depends upon the load of the server if you try to access internet during night i.e from 6pm to 10pm then you might see the decrease in speed.As far as i know in BSNl the connection is not drectly given to your PC it comes via router and it might be possible that 3-4 connections will be going through that router so i would suggest you to go to the BSNL exchange and register one compaint.
