Computer Shuts off Randomly while playing games

I have a pretty good computer with nice specs that can play almost all of the high required specs of PC. But now, most of the times, when playing high graphic games, my PC suddenly hangs and nothing happens for half an hour. I then had to push the power button hard for restarting it. I then cleared my hard disks and now its not happening. But i lost everything. Can anybody tell why this was happening?

i found the Solution !!!!! Very Easy One!

it is the Bios SETUP! YES!
in section "PC Health" you will find option for temperature warning. this makes your pc shuts down instead of giving you a warning. Raise the warning temp or Disable this option.
that is it!!!
