    5400 rpm hard drive vs a 7200 rpm hard drive?

    Hi, is there a noticeable difference between HDD with 5400 rpm & 7200 rpm?

    Depends on your processor speed and memory (RAM).
    I run 7200 rpm SATA HDDs and they are 10x faster than the 5400 rpm EIDE HDD I replaced a year ago when I upgraded to a pentium.
    They also make 10000 rpm HDDs but I don't think they're worth it.

    the processor would be an Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.0GHz/4MB L2Cache)

    Unless you're playing high end games or transferring huge files you won't really know the difference, but yeah, go with the 7200. Any idea how much drive space you're looking for?

    what if i have 2gb ram and t7200 2ghz. will a 5400 drive in my future laptop make any diff?
