Canon Pixma MG3100 printer problem in Windows 8

I have done a recent update of Windows 8 from Windows 7 in my computer. I was using Cannon Pixma MG3100 printer fine on Windows 7 but now if I am trying to install it in Windows 8 then I am getting a popup that says "printer driver is already is use..." and it wont install. I even tried to install the driver without connecting the printer then also am getting the same problem? Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks.

There does seems like an updated driver of Canon Pixma MG3100 printer version 1.02 for Windows 8 available, download it from this link - http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/2/010000...-1_02-ea24.exe. You just simply need to download this updated driver and install it in your pc. Best installation method would be to install it by running it as admin. Hope this helps you out.

If the above solution is not working for you then try to install the driver that you have in compatability mode. Just right click on the setup.exe file of the printer driver that you have, and then go to Properties. After that click on the Compatability mode tab and then click on run this file in compatability mode and then choose either Windows 7 or Windows Vista or XP and then click ok and exit. Now double click on the driver and see if it starts to install.

Try to follow the below steps and see if the Canon Pixma MG3100 printer gets recognized in your Windows 8 system:

    1. First of all you will have to disconnect your printer from USB port.
    2. After that remove all the printer driver from your computer.
    3. Now you need to restart your computer.
    4. After that reinstall the printer driver again.
    5. Now plug in the printer and then see if this works.
