    Broadcom PXE v2.1 getting PXE E61 error message

    From past couple of days I am using Lenovo y410 laptop. Whenever I am restarting my laptop, Broadcom PXE v2.1 v9.7.8 prompting with below mentioned error message.
    PXE E61 : Media Test Failure
    PXE MOF : Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM.
    Even restarting the laptop again did not fixing the issue.
    If you are having any proper solution then feel free to post over here.

    Looking at the situation I am suggesting below mentioned solution to fix the problem of yours.
    • You have to enter BIOS setup by pressing F2 keys.
    • Now in to Boot tab from BIOS setup you have to Disable PXE Boot. You have to highlight PXE Boot by using arrow key and press enter.
    • You should use arrow key in order to highlight Disabled and Press enter key.
    • Now save the changes which you have done and exit BIOS.
    • Finally restart the system and see whether it is making any difference.

    The issue which you have stated over here is associated with BIOS of the device. Hence I am suggesting that you should visit the official website and get the latest version of the BIOS and flash it.

    I wanted to tell you some basic troubleshooting steps which will help you to get rid out of the above mentioned issue.
    1. You have to check and verify the cable connection with the hard disk of yours. if there was any improper or loose connection then it could be the root cause of the problem.
    2. If there are any eternal storage device is connected with the laptop then you should remove it.

    Well the PXE error message stated over here is associated with the hardware issue especially with motherboard so better you should visit the official service center of Lenovo and ask for the further help. I don’t recommend to play with the issue if you are not aware of any specific solution.
