HP Photosmart Plus B209 taking 12 hours to print on Mac 10.6.1

I have hp Photosmart Plus B209 at my home installed on my iMac 10.6.1.The problem , is that printing is taking very long time almost 12 hours. This can’t be the regular processing time for printer and is unexpected! Please if anyone know the solution then post here.

If you have installed your drivers from CD that comes along with the printer, then that can be the cause. Mac OS 10.6.1 comes with pre-installed latest hp drivers, so you don’t need to install the additional drivers for that. The driver you have installed must be of the older version. Uninstall the drivers you had installed before. If you still have problem then download the latest driver from official hp website in support tab.

As you suggested I downloaded the drivers for my Mac 10.6.1. when I tried to install it all was going well but at the end of the installation it started to hang. To check if I have installed the drivers correctly I also restarted my pc but It showed that drivers were not installed successfully. What is the problem?

Ok, see you have Mac product and it also comes with the hp drivers already installed in it. Old drivers are not compatible with the os X. If you still have any problem then go to apple.com and download the combo update (10.6.6). also download the hp printer drivers (2.8)for os x. you will always find all the necessary drivers on apple website.

To install the printer drivers available in the Mac OS X 10.6.1follow the given steps:
1. Go to the dock and click on the “system preferences”.
2. Select “print & fax” option.
3. When you newly connect your printer to your pc , use plus sign at the left corner side of the bottom to add the new printer.
4. Now select your printer and click “add” to use your printer. New queue will be created for new printer.
