    How to setup a HP Officejet j6413 to receive a fax in network drive

    I have HP Officejet j6413 at my home using with windows 7 64bit operating system. Is there any way in which I can receive the fax into my network drive. I have connected it my home network. Can I receive the fax even if my computer is turned off.

    Yeah, the model you are using has the function “fax to pc”. But it requires your computer turn on all the time as It comes with the software “fax to pc”. As you want your computer to receive the fax while it is turned off that may not be possible. I don’t think it is possible with your machine. If I find more information on this I will post here.

    For receiving the fax in the network drive, go to the “fax configuration” there you can provide the name of the folder where you want to receive/save your fax. Check the folder later for confirmation. If you can’t receive the fax in this folder then check whether you have the access permissions to do that from administrator.

    you can use the software named “aloaha pdf suite”. This software saves the print/fax from your printer and saves a copy to other drive by making another copy of original by itself. You can also configure it to send the mail to the e-mail directly. Try installing this software.

    : If you want to receive the mail/fax while your computer is turned off, the only solution I think possible is you use robotic modems that are made in US. You can set these modems to receive the voice message or fax while your computer is turned off. The only reason to worry is these are expensive modem.
