    Pen drive detected but not reading the data.

    I have 4 GB pendrive. Suddenly it stopped working and now problem is that it is getting detected but I am not able read the data from it. I have lot of data into it, how can I grt all of my data?

    I fixed the above problem by the following steps :

    1.go to START
    2.MY COMPUTER
    3.right click on the my computer
    4.select MANAGE
    5.a new window called COMPUTER MANAGEMENT will come.
    6. click on DISK MANAGEMENT
    7.THEN SELECT YOUR PENDRIVE
    8.then at the bottom it shows the information about the your pendrive
    9.right click on the blue colour
    10.choose the option format
    11.then click ok and ok

    Did you check your pen drive’s format. Is it NTFS or FAT. Try to keep the same format as your operating system. If nothing seems to be working go to Disk management by right clicking my computer and going into manage then select your pen drive and right click to go into explorer mode. Work as it is.

    You can fix this issue by following some simple steps given below.

    1. Click Start, click Run, type compmgmt.msc, and then click OK.
    2. In the console tree, click Disk Management. The Disk Management window will appear.
    3. On this disk management window, you can see some drives including the portable drive. Right click on your portable drive and click change drive letter and paths.
    4. Now a assign a new drive letter which is not being used by any of your drives in My Computer.
    5. After assigning the new drive letter your portable drive will show up in my computer with other drives.
    Hope this will solve your problem
