    Intel Thunderbolt controller information needed

hello friends, Is there someone who can post some information about the Thunderbolt controller. I searched for this on internet but got very less information which is not enough for me. So I am starting the thread here with the hope that I will get some replies from you people. If you can provide me some information about this then I will be really thankful for this.

Thunderbolt is summarized and thus this is a combination of DisplayPort and PCI Express on a new connection with a speed of 10 gigabits per second. The controller chip that Intel has developed within the PC or laptop is also connected to the DisplayPort output (whether or not the processor integrated) GPU and using a PCI-Express x4 connection to the motherboard chipset integrated PCI -Express controller. The Thunderbolt controller combines both interfaces and makes it available through a connector.

In a Thunberbolt device is also a controller chip. The DisplayPort signal can then be used to drive a monitor. On the PCI Express signal a turn or multiple controller chips optionally be connected. Thus, a PCI-Express based USB controller to be a USB device to connect, but it is also possible that PCI Express-based GPU be external connection. The Thunderbolt peripheral controller also provides daisy chain capability.

Thunderbolt is ultimately based on two different interfaces: DisplayPort and PCI Express. DisplayPort is the latest connection for monitors, which we lately more and more PCs, laptops and video cards to find. PCI Express is basically an interface within the PC and is used for all sorts of chips and expansion cards to send. The standard is universal: GPU, USB controller, network chips, sound cards, Firewire controllers, remember it and it exists as a PCI Express-based product. Although this is not the first attempt to PCI Express outside the computer to make available but Thunderbolt is the first standardized manner available. Now all these kinds of products are developed externally.

Thunderbolt is the ultimate form of copper used instead of optical cables. Intel had two reasons for this: the costs are much lower and it is possible to connect devices via the new interface also powerful.

The interface that we probably have to go slowly to death is Firewire. This is for two reasons: First the Firewire at present mainly used for professional audio / video equipment and this is a market area with its high throughput Thunderbolt is very suitable. The main reason for this is only real active promoter of Firewire which is Apple and that is precisely the company that Thunderbolt into the market.

The new interface should allow multiple devices to a PC, notebook or other mobile device to connect via a cable. This means more convenience and provide possibilities to eventually remove other connections to mobile devices.

The Thunderbolt logo next to the connector on the new MacBook Pro reveals that the connection is more than what you would expect. The choice of the DisplayPort connector is not so bad. After all, DisplayPort is one of the two compounds that are part of the new interface. Thunderbolt is also backwards compatible with DisplayPort. This means that if you are a normal monitor with the Thunderbolt connector on the Macbook Pro then that connects directly to the controller and will not recognize the Thunderbolt device. The Thunderbolt cables are identical to Mini DisplayPort cables, although officially certified cables that carry the Thunderbolt logo.

With Thunderbolt, Intel has developed in cooperation with Apple, a new interface with high transfer rate. The transmission takes place over a copper cable and not by optical means, as was originally contemplated.

The Thunderbolt technology was developed to accelerate the transmission of HD among other media. For example, can be used with high bandwidth and transmit in real-time video with low latency and are immediately synchronized in time with video record audio and video.

Thunderbolt was developed jointly by Intel and Apple, and can transfer data at up to 10 gigabytes per second. Until now, Apple's Mac interface was reserved, which meant that the alternative USB 3.0, a larger variety of devices operated. It is worth noting that a single port Thunderbolt uses only two bidirectional channels, so that machines that do not need to support more than one external display port and a single Thunderbolt could easily use to use a version of Eagle Ridge.
