How to install Canon LBP2900 Printer in Mac OS X Lion v.10.7?

I have a Canon LBP2900 Printer at home. Also I have a Mac OS X Lion v.10.7 system. I know that we have CAPT Printer Driver Version 3.36 available for Mac OS X v10.7. I want to tell that my older driver for Canon LBP2900 Printer is not supported with the new CAPT. Is it true that the old CAPT is not supported with the 10.7. How to install Canon LBP2900 Printer in Mac OS X Lion v.10.7? Does anybody know about this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I would suggest you to select your printer first. Then go to the system preferences, after this click on the print and fax. Then click on your printer in the printer list and then select the minus sign to remove it. Click the + sign and try to add it back again. I hope this helps. I would also say that try shutting down and disconnecting the printer from the Mac. And reconnect it, try to power it and you will be prompted for new drivers.

Let me tell you that Canon LBP2900 Printer uses Canon proprietary CAPT driver. The service information from Canon does not list this model as being supported by the new driver.

I would suggest you to first try out installing the fresh lion. I have found the solution for you, try out the following.
• Find in Library/Printers/Canon the folder CAPT and rename it in CAPT_OLD (as you prefer).
• Download this folder [boolet.free.fr]
• Copy the new folder into Library/Printers/Canon.
• Restart your Mac.
• Download and install the last version of Canon Capt driver from here [software.canon-europe.com]
• Restart your Mac again.
• The printer should work.

I think you should download and install official drivers for lion v3.36. You can visit the official website and learn more. Also download and install this package Canon_LBP3000_to_LBP2900_patcher.zip from the internet. You can visit the google website and learn more. After these, just try to reboot the system. Probably I think you will need to manually match your printer with LBP 2900 driver from drivers list.
