Image stretchy appears stretchy on ViewSonic PJD6531w 3D Projector with 1280x800 resolution

Hi, I am having ViewSonic PJD6531w 3D Projector and don’t know I am having problem with the machine as mentioned below,

1- In the inhabitant and advertised 3D mode of 1280x720p at 120Hz, the picture is for all time stretched to fit a 16:10 profile of the inhabitant resolution (1280x800), which is extremely obvious and detracts badly from the whole S3D experience.

2- In both the DLP link and 3D Vision 120Hz modes, the image turn out to be far dim and drops contrast ratio considerably, than the standard non 120Hz modes.

3- The firmware update instructions were incorrect and the update tools don't work even.

Any suggestion would be appreciated for resolving this.

According to me you should first of all try to run on some different resolution, and see what happens, because it might be possible that resolution that you are trying to run on won’t be supported by your monitor.

Have you ever read the specification of your motherboard? If not then you should do that as well, because form there also you can determine whether your monitor rather projector supports the resolution you are trying to run.

I think you must have installed wrong drivers to you machine, and that could be the only problems, do you know which driver version you have installed, because the one that you have to install is 258.69 beta driver, thus if you have installed any other than download the drivers again in your machine and install the one I have mentioned.

Sometimes it also happens as because of the dissimilarity in the frequency causes such a problem in the monitor thus it can’t display thing perfectly.

concerning to aspect ratio issue, the problem you have mentioned wonder me and make me deep thinking on why the native resolution on 3D mode is 1280x720 (16:10) but 1280x800 (16:9) this normal timing in its place? As the main chip from TI, the present market scalar IC Company hasn’t developed to 1080P origin by bandwidth limitation.

Owing to 3D stuffing will be alienated into twice edge, the present bandwidth will be partial Of course, double IC layout can resolve this hitch but associated software and other side effects haven’t been resolved yet. If you try to explore the present 3D contents up to 720P, you’ll determine this is certainly a 3D technology restraint as now.

Of course, maybe striding into 2011, they are about to launch 1080P 3D compatible projector soon based on IC provider’s product roadmap therefore At last, there should no difficulty to toggle to 16:9 modes on this PJ apart from in 3D mode.

I am agree with the above user as In fact I have also heard about the same as the aspect ratio is a enduring difficulty because the scalar chipset they have make use of can't do 16:9 at 120Hz from a 16:10 native.

No I don’t think it could be a permanent problems rather there could be so many problems such as you might have incorrect rather inappropriate driver in your machine, because the thing is like while using such a good machine we should have to have perfect bunch of drivers installed in the machine in order to run the machine perfectly.

Thus first of all make sure whether you are using perfect driver or not, and if you are not getting which driver you are using and whether they are latest or not then you can simply download it from the respective site of your GPU manufacturer.

as far as DLP link is concern when I had contacted about this to viewsonic I got the answer saying “the IC chipset of present DLP link type 3D projector on the marketplace were take on the similar usual specification IC supplied from Texas Instrument (TI), and in order to sync the 3D substance stream among graphic and PJ side will been taken next to with 90 degree of white + cyan colors alternative from color wheel.

And as a outcome of that, the vividness will be abridged 30% than standard mode. But yes, one of the compensation for DLP type PJ is no need of turning off the indoor light including with LCD type PJ.”

However, this is the present technology restriction on DLP type projector in 3D application from TI.

I think you must have installed different firmware to your machine and that is why you are having all this problem to your device.

And will you please let us know from where you have gotten such instruction for updating the firmware?

Actually when I was about to update the firmware I got the instruction set from one of the website, and I just follow that only.

    Had I made any mistake?

yeah I would say you have made a mistake only, because according to me we should only visit the service center for any such activity rather than doing on our own, and I think that’s the only last option remain left.
