    Unable to virtualize PC hardware

Hi, I have VMware Workstation and I am having some problem with them as I am not able to virtualized them, and I required to run Mac OS, but at any time I try to switch it on, it gives me error.

So any idea what could be the problem with the hardware because as the extent to I know all the hardware that I am using in my machine has very good hardware acceleration in order to make use of virtualization.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Though you are confident about the hardware but still I would like to recommend you that you should try to test all your hardware as whether they are capable or not, and it would be better if you test it under expertise guidance.

And after all there could be so many problems with the virtualization such as,

    • Low hardware performance

    • No easy and powerful tools to manage virtualization

    • No Operating system support

    • Low dependability of virtualization software

    • unwillingness of large companies to deal with "untested" technology

    • squat action of companies that offers the new technology

I am agree with the above user as I was also having same problem once with my machine and at last I came to know that the operating system that I am using is not capable of supporting virtualization. And it is quite difficult to recommend you as whether your hardware or the software supports this facility or not.

But still I would like to suggest you that you should try to get the relevant software to the operating system that you are using, I mean to say you should try to get the software which is actually compatible with the operating system that you are using.

Hey I would like to give you an solution to this but I am not sure whether it will work or not as I have gotten this from the Microsoft’s respective website. And for that you can simply follow the below mentioned steps.

    • First of all depress Esc key while provoked at startup and after that depress the F10 key to Configure BIOS (or you have to pay whatever key is to open the BIOS setup)

    • Since the system open the menu scroll to System Configuration using the arrow keys

    • Now choose “virtualization Technology” and depress the Enter key

    • And from there you have to “Enabled” and depress the Enter key

    • Now save all the settings that you have made and exit the BIOS menu.

    • Fully shut down (power off), wait a few seconds, and restart your computer and then see whether you are able to do this or not.

i was having this problem because of the software that I was using and thus I would like to suggest you that you should try to make use of either ”Windows Virtual PC” or “Sun VirtualBox” rather than any other if you are using windows based operating system.

Hey thanks for the suggestion as I got the solution and it is working perfectly, thanks for that dude, and actually I was pretty much aware about the hardware compatibility.

Still I have completed the setup but still I want to know about the various software that the above user has mentioned as which one is the best one to have, and what are the benefits of respective software’s.

you can visit the below mentioned site for Windows Virtual PC’s description. From there only you’ll get the description about the software and it’s key feature.

Re: Unable to virtualize PC hardware

Seems that you must be using apple mac osx thus according to me you should try to make use of software called VirtualBox 3.0 in your machine, because though the above user mentioned about another software, that’s is also good but for the windows based operating system.

with this software you don’t have to have Hardware Virtualization, apart from this it supports all virtual machines by means of the Open Virtualization Format; this comprises support for virtual hard drives from Windows Virtual PC and VMware.
