It will be right to say that Eco-friendly means low power consuming system. The best example I can give is of 16 Watt Eco PC which works on Linux. It is called as ECOPC N.1A. I just found this accidentally, while searching for Eco-friendly computer. The pc runs on Intel Atom N270 processors. You can install Windows also on the same. The pc is optimized to work on lowest power and as you can se it has Intel Atom processor, then simply this system cannot give what you expect from today's high system desktop. For home use this is more than enough. All hardware from hard drive to processor is optimized to consume the lowest power and to give you better output. The only best part of this pc is that you can use it anywhere you want like car, boat, etc. where you have an small battery with you. It has fedora based operating system.

Solar powered pc will be the most wisest choice in this range. Here you get an self charging laptop. All you need is to place the same under sun. But what for those places where sun exposure is limited. We cannot put an wind mill on the laptop and hold the same in air. So there should be some kind of other sources of energy also. Till now sun is most biggest source of energy we have and if the same is properly harnessed then many issues can be solved instant. What more you need, if you can carry an solar charge with the laptop and charge it anywhere you want.

There is another similar model called as Advent Eco PC. An Eco pc is not only low power consumable device, but made with those material which are easily recyclable. The most toughest is battery recycle which consumes some of the most harmful stuff. If you want to go for an Eco-friendly system then this can be your choice. You can choose this model. It has an Core 2 duo system. With 2Gb Ram and 160Gb hard drive support you can run operating system like Windows Vista on it. It is an expensive system in comparison to regular system so better buy the same as per your choice. Or else you can wait back for some more time, till you get better systems released by companies.
