    Should I get GTX 460 SLI x16/x4

I am thinking to get the 2nd GTX 460 1gb version but the problem is that I am having the x16/x4 slots and other than this, my MB don’t hold up SLI. Now I am thinking that if GTX 480 within SLI will have the performance drop then the 460 SLI may be yet slower as my MB cannot run SLI, but could I make use of SLI hack? What your opinion about this. Should I acquire the 2nd Gigabyte GTX 460 1gb because they are low-priced and go with the SLI or continue through single GTX 460?

I would have been at your place then I may upgrade the motherboard and keep for a GTX 460 afterward, Foe me, it’s extremely hassle if you are going to carry on your bored, You will ought to do the SLI hack, and because its x4 each of your cards will be running on that speed. That was tested on 2560x1600 and maxed out superiority settings. So at reduced resolution, but you are using a 460 SO. You are going to have to sli hacked your motherboard.

GTX 480 SLI was not a bottleneck 4x/4x well so that would equal GTX 460 SLI / minor bottleneck. Maybe I should wait for GTX 570 and GTX 460 and get sell my 570? It would be great for GTX 460 SLI, SLI is very difficult to hack. Most important is the priority of bandwidth PCIe. I have the gigabyte motherboard 870, and the 4x slot is the second lowest priority PCIe bandwidth. If you use any PCIe device, there is no accessible bandwidth to use a second video card in 4x slot.

It is not difficult at all, apply a patch, reboot, configure a boot option in certain msconfig and you're good to go. I would also wait for a HD 69XX or a GTX 570 though (GTX 580 is already out). It can be a test mule and, possibly, be the first friend / just run SLI chipset 870. I was going to do what you're thinking about my Giga 870A-UD3, but I decided to wait until 28nm cards coming out next year.

Upgrading from a Sapphire Vapor-X 5770, a curious choice that would make more sense. While the GTX 460 SLI works much faster than the 6870, costs a little more and has higher energy and other things so I'm not entirely sure if this is the best option. I can have two GTX 460 768MB @ $ 159 ea PC Case Gear, or could go for a $ 279 power color 6870. What do you think would be the best option here?
