    Information on Silverstone AP181

Lately, Silverstone released a fresh line of fans dubbed the Air Penetrator. These fans are meant to enhance case cooling over predictable computer fans by making use of attractive performance like wide fan blades and also a counter-spun grill. At present, the AP line of fans have a 120mm and 180mm model. The 120mm model is used for common reason case cooling, at the same time the 180mm model is intended as an upgrade or substitute to the stock 180mm fans in Silverstone's Raven and Fortress series cases.

Silverstone maintains that the new Air Penetrator fans work on the standard that they direct airflow to your components more efficiently. The AP fans superbly direct approximately all their air in a single path. If case you have ever seen a popular Vornado or Honeywell Air Circulator room fan you will most likely become aware of the appealing spiral grill design. The spiral grill is counter spun to the rotation of the fan blades. This causes the air in the frontward course as an alternative of directing it out of the sides of the fan.

The AP181 comes in a brown cardstock box along with the standard advertising data on facade and scientific data on the reverse side. Several helpful provision on the rear tell us that the AP181 is a sleeve bearing fan which spins at either 700rpm or 1200rpm, whereas putting out 80CFM to 120CFM of air at 18dBA and 34dBA. One more fascinating arrangement is effective airflow range which is rated at 1.2m and 3m . This would exemplify the AP181's efficacy at directing air.

Inside the casing is the AP181 fan .Screws, power adapters, and manuals are all canceled in this package evidently representing the AP181 as a substitute fan. A lovely disclosure though, is that the AP181 did comprise an integrated speed control module. Thus, installation is a lot easier on an FT-02 or RV-02 case given that there is no need to de-solder the stock FN-181 from its speed control module. Connector-wise, the AP181 is terminated in a three pin plug like the FN-181.

    re: Information on Silverstone AP181

The FN-181 is rated for 18dBA and 27dBA on low and high in contrast to the AP181's 18dBA and 34dBA. If paid attention to both fans, Silverstone's ratings appear precise as one cannot specify a distinction between the FN-181 and AP181 on low. In case of high, though, the AP181 is considerably louder compared to the FN-181. Tonally, the AP181 fans have superior distinctiveness than the FN-181s. The AP181's tone are smoother and lower.

A small change in CPU temperatures are seen, although noteworthy enhancement are seen in GPU temperature. The AP181 fans are trouble-free and basic to install, while you will need to use new or existing screws. The included speed controllers is a versatile feature and makes installation easier. Presently, the AP181 fans go for about $25 per unit. Switching to AP181 fans characterizes a major deal economically. Moving from midrange computer to the AP181s won't present much value.
