SetPoint does not recognize Logitech G500 gaming mouse on Windows 7

Yesterday I have just bought a gaming mouse from Logitech called G500. I then connected it to my computer and downloaded the newest version of SetPoint from the Logitech official website. However the version of Setpoint is 6.2. After the completion of installation I went to Start> programs > Logitech > G9x, G500 and G700 Gaming Mice > Device Setting. There it is telling me that that it does not recognizes any device. I re-installed the SETPoint and tried a different USB port but nothing makes it enable. I am using the Windows 7 x64 bit operating system. Can anyone tell me what would be the problem here?

I have also had the similar issues and I don’t think that you are getting any problem with the Windows 7. The problem exists in the Setpoint itself as I think. The Logitech gaming mouse are one of the best mice in the world. There is no doubt about that. Here you should do to your computer. I hope that you have already installed the setpoint.
    • Uninstall the setpoint and do not restart the computer.
    • After that go to the "C:\Program Files\Common Files" and remove the "LogiShrd" folder;
    • Now reboot the computer.
    • Attach the mouse and re-install the Setpoint. I hope that it could help you.

I think that you haven’t configured the USB port correctly using the BIOS configuration. I think that there are specific settings to enable the USB mouse and keyboard in BIOS. So you should go into the BIOS and check the proper settings. There you will have to disable the onboard connector of mouse and keyboard. Then save the settings and restart the system. Now it should work. When you attach the USB mouse to Windows, then it will automatically installs the Driver. You don’t need any external driver maybe.

You may perhaps have hardware problems which on a computer may be fixed via disabling onboard USB port and installing an external USB card. For this you need to shutdown the computer and unplug the power cord. Restart the computer and create a restore point to them. Go to Control Panel> Device Manager> click somewhere on the screen> afterward select VIEW> Show Hidden Devices. Uninstall the all USB port controllers. Restart the pc and it may refreshes the USB stack. Install again using motherboard driver CD.

F you are getting any issues with the USB keyboard and mouse, then think that there are some important files missing from your Windows computer. You need copy following files. They are actually a Windows drivers.
    • Hccoin.dll (c:\WINDOWS\system32)

    The subsequent are found: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers)
    • Usbehci.sys
    • Usbhub.sys
    • Usbport.sys

Copy those files to their respective folder as mentioned in front of them. I hope that you have seen this folder in your computer. Now your USB device must work.

For this issue you need to do some general troubleshoot with your PC.
    • Try to run the Windows Update
    • Cleanup and get rid of older USB drivers
    • Attach AC adapters
    • Check your USB drive through dissimilar hardware setups
    • Search for Viruses and also for Malware
    • Verify Windows policy settings
    • Fix Drive Letter variances
    • Make proper filesystem errors

I have found a fix for myself. After troublshooting the first two pages of a google search only to come up with no solution, including this thread, I tried the following:

    1. Open Device Manager
    2. Click 'View' from the title menu
    3. Scroll down and click Show hidden devices
    4. On the left find 'Human Interface Devices' (my G500 Mouse was found here)
    5. Uninstall or Delete the driver for the mouse
    6. Reboot with your mouse unplugged
    7. Plug your mouse in and let your computer automatically install the drivers

Hopefully this works for the lot. It is the only fix I have found to work.
