repartition my 500gb hard disk

my new computer has two hard disks. i don't like the current space allocation. totol capacity is 500gb, e: 250gb for videos, 250gb for games
i want three partitions: 150gb for videos, 100gb for music and photos, 250gb for games. any good way to achieve it? thanks

You have not mentioned the operating system that you are using. As you told that the computer is new then I guess that it should have Windows 7. Here are the steps to do that.

1. First of all, login as the administrator to the system.
2. Open the Computer Management. Go to start > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Computer Management. Provide the admin password if it prompts you for that.
3. Click on Disk Management from the Navigation pane which is there under Storage.
4. Right click on the volume you need to shrink and then click on the Shrink Volume.
5. Now simply follow the onscreen instructions and you will be able to do that.

Please make sure that you have the backup of all the data that you are having on your system. Once you are done with this then you will be required to make use of the BOOTABLE CD here. If you are using Windows XP then just boot up the system and then follow the steps similar while installing Windows XP. After that just delete the partition and then allocate the space accordingly. Please while doing this make sure that you do not go for installing Windows XP again. Then place all the data that you had backed up again in the hard disk. Hope that you will find this useful.
