Sandisk 4GB Drive USB not detected

    Hi,
When I connect my pen drive to my HP pavilion DV6 -3004TU Laptop. It is not automatically installing the drivers for the pen drive because of which the drive is not detected. I have windows XP on my Laptop .When we connect normally pen drive to the system it gets automatically detected but that is not happening with my case. Please suggest what I need to do get it working?

I was also had same problem with my Laptop then I got a way to do it .I think this better option that i have tried. Try this after connecting your pen drive, click on Start --> Run --> Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. "Device Manager" will be opened. If you notice any yellow mark, right-click on it and select "Update Drivers" .one window will open that shows progress then restar the your personal computers to take effect.

I have solution for this query that resolve this problem.
    1. Click Start, click Run, type compmgmt.msc, and then click OK.
    2. In the console tree, click Disk Management. The Disk Management window will appear.
    3. On this disk management window, Right click on your portable drive and click change drive letter and paths.
    4. Now a assign a new drive letter which is not being used by any of your drives in My Computer.
    5. After assigning the new drive letter your portable drive will show up in my computer with other drives.

Let’s try another solution. Also have you tried plugging it into different USB ports? Might port that you are using is loose or somewhat damaged .Also if you see it in device manager after you remove it delete it manually. Then re-plug it. I have an issue like this with an HP 5100 printer that does the same thing and that seems to fix it.
