Test System for Cooler Master 690 II

I am eager to know about the Cooler Master 690 II in more details. I have thought to go for it, since the manufacturer Cooler Master is known for several years and especially for its products on the chassis, power supply and cooler market. Even before our current market reached its subject, has much the appearance and properties of speculation. The workmanship of the housing can consistently satisfy and with many competitors, which are located in higher priced regions quite keep up easily. Notably, it convinced us the rigidity of the entire Mid-Tower. And equipped with three different fans, kept in complete black design and the use of stable materials promoting the 690 II, in fact, for the favor of its buyers. Also I am sure that your test clear whether the purchase is worthy or not. I am also willing to know about the delivery of it. Please provide some helpful information that would be worth for me.

The following are some information about the delivery, which I am aware about :
    • Material: outer envelope and most of the front made of steel
    • Dimensions: approx 511 x 214.5 x 528.8 mm (H x W x D)
    • Weight: about 9.6 kg
    • four 5.25" front drive bays (external), with either a 3.5-inch drive bay
    • six 3.5" drive bays (internal)
    • a 140-mm LED fan, a 140-mm fan and a 120-mm fan (each with 1,200 rpm) with speed control
    • Motherboard form factors: ATX, Micro ATX and ATX
    • two USB 2.0, two audio and one eSATA port in Port-Kit

Besides the usual screws and instructions for installing the graphics card holder includes the holder, a correct aperture and adapters for mounting a 3.5" drive in the 5.25" drives, various cable ties and an additional dust filter for a fan to 140 millimeter size for delivery.

The design and thus the appearance has changed only marginally over the previous. However, there are more with the newly designed plastic parts clear distinguishing features. The front is still in large part from wire mesh, including the four panels of 5.25" drive bays. Even the lower atmosphere is in the same style and interrupted only by a manufacturer's logo. Edged is the lattice, as for the predecessor, in chrome plastic strips which pass over the entire front and the cover toward the rear. New, and somewhat ostentatiously, and is now the frame at the front, which in the lower third of a slightly rippled area. If you break the front of the chassis , the dust filters are made of nylon to light that adorn the entire front or protect the interior from unwanted dust contamination. Unlike most of the housing, the 690 II before the drives to the chassis no extra slot aperture. At the bottom provides Coolermaster a 140 mm LED fan that can be installed in two different positions and replaced either by a model with 120 millimeters.

Certainly, the cover is one of the most interesting innovations. While the previous full-length or wire mesh set in, one finds the 690 II only in the rear third of a structured mesh, under which the house built on 140-mm fan finds his place. The front area is now occupied by a hard drive dock, where all the hard drives with standard power and data link can operate. To make this dock and not the dusty surface of the cover is not interrupted, is included with a slightly transparent cover to postpone. In the front area - and thus independent from the front - the Port Kit is housed, in addition to two USB, two audio and one eSATA port that accommodates power and reset switch and also has a pressure switch to the lighting of the front fan on or off. This function should meet with widespread approval.

The side walls have changed little. On the right side wall is still a small opening behind the motherboard tray available, which enables an 80-mm fan block and thus to cool the back of the processor socket. The left side panel comes up with slightly different openings for installation of two fans. In the back of each other, two additional fans are installed, which may have a size of 80-140 mm. The sheet has, unlike most other cases of this class, a thickness of about 0.9 millimeters and has a very rigid. It is also noted that both sides very firmly to the chassis into place and can still easily separated by the two tabs on the rear end of it. At the back there is a first indication of further changes: the black interior. In the top of two tube passages for operating an external water cooling can be found. These have, in comparison to all other cases tested so far, much larger diameters, so that even very thick tubes can come easily used. Below is a neatly crafted grille, where a 120-mm fan attached. The seven slots for expansion cards in the known arrangement is joined by another slot, which is mounted on the side. There, for example, a fan controller or a slot fan to be mounted. The power supply on bottom of the back of his seat. Next on the bottom we find a somewhat unusual picture. While the power supply unfiltered as delivered its fresh air from the bottom covers, the front of a large dust filter exists with a length of about 26 centimeters.

The large, absorbing feet at the stern were taken from the previous, however, donated the front of the Cooler Master 690 II, only two small glued-on rubber pads for vibration damping. The workmanship of the housing can consistently satisfy and with many competitors, which are located in higher priced regions quite keep up easily. Notably, it convinced us the rigidity of the entire Mid-Tower. The interior, which this time is stored completely in black, is loaded with all sorts of concepts that will allow the waiver of tools. Without it's still not, as the Main Board are first attached with some screws on the motherboard tray needs. Who wants to change during the use of its processor cooler housing needs, usually the motherboard but not expand again as the opening in the tray to secure the cooler backplate is large enough to be placed on this mainboard installed. In the lower part and on the front of the tray of four oval openings for rear cable management are provided. Unlike many manufacturers waived Cooler Master case on rubber sheaths that cover the open spaces. On the one hand, this is the installation of the hardware pleasant, because the covers then in performing the cable can not be torn from its socket, on the other hand, the holes in this case large enough so that even big plug like that of the Main Board power connector can be conveniently performed through it. The seven-slot aperture on the rear wall and the additional, which is mounted vertically, are all secured with thumb screws, so they really are to solve by hand - actually. In reality, it proves extremely difficult, as the screws are tightened from work so hard that they can be solved only with a screwdriver. Thus, the system is in itself quite unnecessary - unless you constantly changes its boards or their position.

Re: Test System for Cooler Master 690 II

Cooler Master 690 II sets a stabilizer for integrated graphics card in the person who is already in the Lian Li PC-X2000BW is used for. This is attached with two screws on the rear wall and is then treated with a large wing screw set at will on their own needs. This has meant Cooler Master not only the current generation of graphics cards but there is room for future, possibly even longer created maps. IT CAN remove the upper part of the HDD cage along with the two supports and can utilize the entire depth of housing in order to obstruct a graphics card. The power supply is laid on four bearing surfaces made of rubber. Therefore, while the vibrations are damped to the bottom, however, the AC adapter is bolted to the back wall, so there again vibrations can be transmitted. As mentioned above involves the power supply can have fresh air when delivered unfiltered from the bottom. Remedy this, however, an additional dust filter that is included. This can easily be placed in front of the fan grill.

In front are some slightly modified compared to the previous approaches used. Thus, both the four 5.25" drives as well as six 3.5" hard drives are installed without any tools. When the lever is pushed the drive mounting on "Open", then raises the bar on something and the drive can be inserted. With "Lock" it is then fixed in position, so it is flush with the flat front. Below each drive a separate bracket is inserted into the drive cage. The brackets themselves are made of very flexible plastic and have four small metal tips that replace the screws used otherwise. Thus, the hard drive but no direct contact with the housing gets any metal tip is mounted on a rubber that will absorb the vibrations of the storage medium. To a 2.5 - or 1.8" hard drive to be fitted, can in the top bracket, a small adapter is included, which has the dimensions of a 3.5" hard disk and thus vibrate is mounted. The installation of our hardware components without problems. Besides the many concepts, which made the use of tools largely dispensable, above all, convinced the lengths of the Port kits. The included fan are each equipped with a 3-pin fan connector and an adapter to a 4-pole and thus can be easily integrated into the system. Only to be tightened thumb screws of the rear slot covers are a cause for criticism. The built-in hard drive thanks to the damping rubber bearing flexible and can be fitted with a light touch to make a difference, which is a first look at the efficiency of absorption. Covered under "Equipment inside" the four rest areas were raised for the power supply, which prove to be out of place in the practice as something. Then there is our power to only two areas on the back, longer power supplies but would also take the front two to complete.
