Canoscan D646U scanner not working under Windows 7

I use a desktop machine and the problem that I am facing is with the Canoscan D646U scanner that I have. I am not able to work well as the device is not able to cope with the system. I do not know what could have caused the problem. Please do help me out which will be better and make the implementation to be processed. Hope to get a desired solution as needed.
